Maritime Administration Acquired a New Boat

The Maritime Administration acquired a new small craft to be used by the Small Craft and Inland Vessel Department inspectors. The boat is needed in the Tartu area on inland waters (Emajõgi, Võrtsjärv, Peipsi järv, Lämmijärv) for supervision and inspection purposes.

In order to name the craft, a public competition was announced. Forty-four names were submitted, and the winner was the name Evatar, suggested by Mr Jüri Kask, a member of Merekeele Nõukoda (the maritime terminology committee).

The Evatar was manufactured in Finland. The model Buster Cabin E has an optimized aluminium hull, with a power range of 115-250 hp, is almost 7 m in length and can carry 8 persons on board.
