SRC Group Studies Technical Condition of Icebreakers

SRC GROUP won two contracts to carry out the technical evaluation of the icebreaker Tarmo and multipurpose vessel EVA-316. The company shall evaluate the vessels’ compliance with current requirements and prepare a feasibility study to highlight possible technical risks that can have an impact on the ships’ performance while working. The Estonian Maritime Administration would like to use these vessels for another 15 years, so the study will bring out the approximate costs of the possible extension of the life span of both ships.

Based on the analysis the investment decision regarding life extension of the Tarmo and mid-life upgrade of the EVA -316 will be made by the Administration.

SRC GROUP started the work at the beginning of June and the total cost of both projects is 62,890 EUR, 50% of which will be financed through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) instrument, as the activity is part of the International project WINMOS II.
